I hate leaving!

I said goodbye to a friend the other day. She will be leaving to go back to her home in some Scandinavian country, and I will be heading back to the states. I did the traditional greeting of kissing on both cheeks, said goodbye and started to walk away. As I did this she looked me in the face and said, “I will see you again in another life”. She smiled knowingly, and I returned the smile, almost wanting to complete her statement with, “when we are both cats.” I think that was the most perfect goodbye I shall ever experience. I have no doubt that I will never see her again, but I will always remember her, and her parting words.

Stupid

OK, so a few years ago I came across an article about gene doping. Basically, it said that in the near future, people will be able to use gene therapy to do drastically more than steroids and whatnot. And, the new gene doping is almost un-traceable. I went on to say that you can gain muscle faster, heal faster, and bulk up faster with this new gene therapy. Then it went on to say that it is such a bad thing, because Athletes will abuse it, and it will undermine the competitive spirit of the game. To these people I say, “YOU are f@*&ing morons!”

OK, seriously! Sorry for the strong language, but I can really see nothing wrong with this. Yes, it is not gaining strength the usual way, and it will put people who do not use It at a disadvantage, but seriously. OK, so I have the opportunity to become stronger, heal faster from injuries, and generally be more healthy, and you want to tell me that I can’t because it will undermine the spirit of sport. What is wrong with people! OK, I am against steroids, they can cause cancer, and extreme violent moods swings, and a lot of other bad stuff. But I REALLY don’t care if some dude is getting stronger from them.

I don’t know the whole concept of; Man we should really control this substance. Because people may be way better off if we don’t; really pisses me off. If someone could have given me a drug that would have made me recover faster from dislocating my shoulder I would have been happy to take it. Assuming no crazy side effects.

So yeah, that is my take on it. I sometimes really have doubts about the whole, Spirit of competition.

Aright, well Here is a link to an article about gene doping. Let me know what you think.

Kids these days!!!

Alright, time for another round of spontaneous blogging. I am currently trying to avoud heading to the school to meet with some friends and drop a HUGE load of money on a Euro Rail pass. It is going to be a FANTASTIC time, but also flipping expensive.

I just got back from the pool. I have found that if I work out early in the day, I generaly feel a lot better the whole day long. I am more relaxed, and it is a mood enhancer. I think I may try and work out before school and work from now on. I doubt that will ever happen, cause I love sleep so much. But, I can always hope.

I am starving for some mexican food, but I guess I shall have to make due with a Schnitzel sandwich. Hopefully I won't become deathly ill again, I am going to one of my former favorite places. I think I may have gotten food poisoning from them a few weeks ago.

I have decided I like chess. I get destroyed every time I play, but I still like it. Maybe because it is the closest thing I have to video games here. I am sure the newest RPG will take the place of chess as my favored game when I return home, But such is life.

I think my time here has made me appreciate things more. I America is so about instant gratification. 24 hours a day everything and all that jazz. Here, it is much slower, and inefficient. But I kinda like that. There are plusses to both. I think it is a lot easier to see beauty here than in the states. They are a much more social culture in ways, I think a lot of this has to do with the use of mass transit. Almost daily I see something on the subway that makes me remeber that humans are not quite as crappy as I think they are. Or at least, individuals.

Today however I almost beat down some snot nosed kids on the tram. Ok, I did not almost beat them down, but I did yell at them firmly in english which they did not understand. They were sitting behind me and decided to have a juice fight with the juice bottles they were holding. I noticed I got hit with a few drops, and turned just in time to get hit with the coup degrace when the other kid poured all of the contents on his friend, along with me and everyone else in a 10 foot radius. I had enough time to yell, "KIDZ!!!" before the tram stopped and they sprinted off to run back to the wolf pacj that they had obviously been raised by. Everyone on the tram was pissed, we all had a moment.

Aright, enough babble from me. I am need to buy a Eurorail pass for the cost of my left arm, and perhaps a few toes.
